Local Area Network Cables
Cable type often used in building the network LAN.
First time using a LAN cable "coaxial". Then, the cable "twisted pair"as used in telephone systems have been able to bring a higher frequency and can support the traffic LAN. And this time, fiber optic cable has emerged as the choice of very high-speed cable.
Local Area Network using four types of cables:
* Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
UTP stands for "Unshielded Twisted Pair". Called unshielded because less resistant to electromagnetic interference. And called twisted pair because in it there is the couple who arranged spiral cable berlilitan alias each other.
* Coaxial
Coaxial cable consists of an outer cylindrical conductor that surrounds a wire in it, which consists of two main elements. ie the element is in the center is a copper conductor. This section is surrounded by a layer of insulation that contained copper braid which became the second wire in the circuit, as well as wrapping of the conductor is located in it. This second layer serves to reduce outside interference. This section is then covered with a jacket.
* Shielded Twisted Pair (STP)
Shielded twisted pair (STP) is a twisted pair cable that has the protection of the metal to protect the cable from external electromagnetic intereferensi (wikipedia)
* Fiber Optik
Fiber optic cable is a cable made of glass fiber with advanced technology and has a data transfer speed is faster than regular cable, usually used in fiber optic backbone network because dibutuhakan more speed in this network, but are now widely that uses fiber optics to normal tissue both LAN, WAN or MAN as it can provide more impact on the speed and bandwidth because it uses fiber optic light refraction to transfer data through it and certainly the speed of light is no doubt but to build a fiber network with optics required cost is quite expensive because it takes a special tool in its development.
